Focus & Scope
The Journal of Social Justice in Action (JSJA) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that uplifts lived experience as legitimate scholarship. Our focus is to provide a platform for credible messengers, scholar-activists, grassroots organizers, trauma-informed practitioners, and youth leaders to share research, reflections, and creative work that speaks to social justice in action.
We publish:
- Autoethnographic and narrative essays
- Policy reflections and community evaluations
- Culturally grounded research
- Creative resistance (poetry, visual art, spoken word)
- Youth-led work and co-authored projects
We center work that is healing-centered, justice-driven, and grounded in real-life transformation. JSJA challenges traditional academic gatekeeping and creates space for truth-telling, cultural reclamation, and grassroots innovation.
